I just bought the following to install into a 2002 Jetta:

Alpine 9833

Boston 6.5 Pro's (2 pairs)

JL 300/4

JL 12W6v2

JL 500/1

My question is, before I get all of this installed, do you think I will need to upgrade my stock alternator? Or get a new battery? I don't want to get a cap I'd rather just spend the money on a new alt if needed. Any other suggestions?

i would first try your new system with the stock alt. if your car has a volt gauge, watch to see if it drops when using the system. then you may want to upgrade your alt. also, if you notice any diming of interior/exterior lights at idle engine speed or when you hit a heavy bass note, that will be also be a sign. definitely save your money and don't purchase a cap.

i am currently running both of those amps in a 1995 camry it was draining my norm battery a little bit but i bought an SVR deep cycle battery and the lightes don't dim at all now and my car has a really small stock alt so i think you should be good

Except for the fact that if you dont let the alternator charge the battery back up eventually the dimming will come back. A bigger battery is just a time delay for something you NEED to do.
