Neon Problem

ok, my friend has a plymouth neon(not sure what year, 95-98 i think?) and he wants to put some subs in it, but he needs ALL the trunk space for his huge guitar amp. the only idea's i had were to open the speaker hole in the door bigger and puts 8's in there, then make kick panel components. any other, much less work idea's?

ditch the speakers in the rear deck and use small free-air subs. i think JL makes some good 8" free-air subs. you might have to cuts larger holes in the rear deck, but this seems like the best option.

another option is an isobaric installation. this will allow him to use larger subs, but is a ***** to build correctly. basicly, imagine him pulling his rear seats down. all you see is a panel with a sub mounted to it. now, open the trunk, all you will see is the back of this panel and the magnet half of the sub. This is basicly a free-air install, but the hard part lies in the panel. the front half (cone side) has to be completely sealed off from the back. so in essence your trunk becomes one giant sealed box. If you or your friend have good install skills and want a challenge, this will be the way to go.

Sealed the trunk up as tight as tight can be and get a sub with a really strong electrical suspension (Qes of at least 0.50, preferably under 0.40) and run it behind the back seat facing forwards. Create a baffle of 3/4" MDF that is @ a 90 degree angle to the trunk floor and the trunk roof.

whoops, i said isobaric, my bad. yeah, this is the thing iwas talking about in my first post. MAKE SURE THE FRONT IS SEALED OFF FROM THE BACK!!!

i haven't had time to actually see how much space he has, but he tells me absolutely none
