Okay, so I have an audi a6 2.7t, had it for a while now, 3 different systems, and they've all gone...

I've had my current system for about a week or two, and it just shit the bed.

It's a power acoutik 2600watt amp, wired at 4ohms, and 2 pioneer premiers in a ported box.

It hit pretty hard, and sounded awesome for the time it worked, but now it got really quiet, it barely hits at all. Yesturday it seemed like it just stopped hitting hard kinda suddenly, and it was 91 degrees out and the amp was pretty **** hot. So, I turned it down last night and left it overnight, now the amp isnt hot anymore and it still doesnt hit hard.

What's wrong... this is literally my third ****ing system that's done this.

hm, well all of the wires are fine and in place. i did buy this stuff off ebay, but im wondering if just the amp blew, or something idk. the subs arent blown, theyre fine...

just hook up the power wire directly to the alternator and it won't happen again... I promise!! Oh and get a capacitor... it fixes everything...

check the voice coils.. all you really can do.. and gain some knowledge before you do another install..

try another amp if that fixes it then you have proberbly blown an output mosfet

if it doesnt fix it then try a different speaker if that fixes it u have blown a voice coil

if u still have a problem the u might of damaged ur line out on ur headunit

or get a multimeter and check for high resistance power cables and audio cables

and check for low resistance voice coils

a hot amp normaly means

ur driving it to hard

speakers incorrectly wired (impeadance to low)

a dc offset on input or output

Only way to tell is to get a DMM. Cheap *** amp probably blew something from being too hot. You also probably have a shit install. 3 setups dont fry for nothing.

when i set my sub on fire it still moved as freely as it ever did but both of the coils had gone short circuit and the straps from the terminals to the coils had melted in the middle leavin a half inch gap

1.5KW sub vs 3KW amp 1ohm stable (rms)

had it turned up a bit to much and dammaged the coils but the amp tryed to drive the short and melted the straps

bit more carefull on the volume now

my advise is buy a high powered amp capable of driving 1ohm/0.5ohm

then u wont run ur amp hot and learn from ur mistakes and know how loud u can take ur system before u break it
