Need to upgrade my front stage, suggestions?

I really need to upgrade my front stage, I currently have a pretty nice pair of 3way speakers (JBL T696 Limited Edition) But I want to upgrade to a component set, because those just aren't giving me the sound stage I want out of my system. I was looking at the JBL 660 GTI as an upgrade, I found them for $700 new. But im not sure, anybody have any other speakers suggestions? They will be running off of a JL slash v2 300.4
