Hey fellas
I recently had all my stereo stuff stolen outa my truck, and now its time to replace it. I want to get a CD player, a pair of components, and an amp. Budget? $600.
I used to have a pioneer CD player, a JBL mono amp, an MB quart 12inch sub and just the regular factory speakers (4x6 in dash, more in the back panels). The sound was decent, but the bass was a little muddy and i am not sure if i even want a subwoofer anymore. What i really want is a loud clean setup where i can really hear the kickdrum on metal songs. If i can achieve this w/out getting a sub, that would be ideal seeing as my budget would force me to buy crappy products if i also have to buy a sub and sub amp.
I would need to find a place to mount the woofers from the components (maybe there are holes in the doors to my truck? i am not sure...). Does it even sound reasonable to have an acceptable setup w/out a subwoofer?
What H/U or amp or components would you recommend that perform well together? Keep the budget in mind (600 bucks). The vehicle it is going into will be a 1990 GMC 1500 extended cab.
Thanks
