Sup everybody, looking forward to building my first system but I need some suggestions on what parts to buy.

The car is a 1997 Cadillac STS Seville, and its got some BOSE crap installed in it right now. So I'm looking forward to an upgrade.

I got around 700$ to get my HU, speakers, amp, wires, etc whatever else I need. As for my HU, I'm pretty much sold on the Pioneer 6900-ub for about 200$.

Found my dash kit on ebay here -http://cgi.ebay.com/1996-2005-Cadillac-Seville-Radio-Dash-Kit_W0QQitemZ190199726498QQcmdZViewItem?IMSfp=TL0802180863a23137

Same with wireharness here -http://cgi.ebay.com/Radio-wire-Harness-Cadillac-Seville-96-97-98-99_W0QQitemZ190124504557QQihZ009QQcategoryZ32812QQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem

As for what speakers, amp, wire I really don't know whats good....so I could use some recommendations! I want some crisp highs up front, and a nice clean amount of bass in the back.....all for around 500$. What do you guys think?

BTW, I asked CC, tweeters, bb, and they all wanted like 600$ to just install this HU, so I figured I could do it myself. I have done wiring (electric for homes, building computers, etc) but never something with cars. Is this doable for me?

TY

very do-able, are you only doing highs and mids, or do you want to include a sub channel in the $700?
Well, do mids give much Bass if any? I can hold off on the subs if it is out of my price range right now.

if you get a nice component set and proper amp, you will get good midbass....you will not efficiently get the lows that a sub can produce, but going from factory to high-end comps will impress you and then later on add a sub stage to meet your liking.

the above if you want a really nice system and only have $700 right now...if you want decent and full sound stage now, then go down in price per channel and get a little of everything for $700:D

I think I'll go with the highs and midbass then.

Thanks bro! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/santa.gif.e1ec9cf2e0a0dd232ad35aa594a126d0.gif

also if you will be doing more with audio in this car later on, go ahead and install large gauge power wire and distribution block, big 3 as stated in wiring/electrical, run ground wiring for the amps to the frame, and on the pioneer hu's make sure you ground both the black on the harness and the case of the unit just to make sure you have no noise or issues:D
