Need suggestions for a new laptop

How much better are they than the vostro 1400? I don't need alot of computer, 2gb ram is probably overkill
alot better.... i'd rather not have to upgrade later. no such thing as too much, unless your a gnat and wanna get fvcked by an elephant.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Lol, I think im just going to get a basic dell, 2gb ram 120gb hard drive, it comes out to like $569 or somethin like that which isn't too bad.

How does acer and toshiba stand as far as performance and reliability vs. price?

save your doe up for a dell xps. sweet computer....
I have an original XPS from 4 years ago.

I hate the thing, but it won't die. Fan's way too loud, battery charger went out two years ago, included power adapter is a POS that needs re-soldering every year or so, internal soundcard connectors are shot, but dammit, it won't die in some important place that could justify me replacing it. And at 3.4gHz/1GB RAM, the specs still aren't bad for basic 32-bit XP.

man get the dell vostro, perfect for your needs, friend has been using for a year and not a single problem.

the 2 gb ram will only make you feel better when you use it and completely in your budget.
