how tight a budget? -- Silverflute has a 4 ohm version thats dirt cheap... http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=324299.13752&pid=1075 -- not the best in the world but it works... if you want to spend more -- say so... you will want a 4th order low pass at about 2khz... so you will need a decent tweeter to keep up...
some of you diy guys pull out speakers out of thin air lol hard enough keeping track of car audio stuff lol looks sweet though. you use them before?

i can spend more money then that. like $40-50 per mid. i'm not looking for like audiophile stuff here. just want to be loud and clear. i plan on just using the 3-way crossover on my deck. i want to keep my car as stock as possible so that's why i'm going with 5.25's.

well I'm not sure if Madisound has MCA15RCY anymore... it isnt in their 'shopping' section anymore that I could see... er nevermind found them... http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=9330159.18616&pid=1596

it is 8 ohm and will take ~100 watts and it is VERY nice if you can highpass it over 150hz 4th order... over 250 would be better though... if nothing else they still have the MP14RCY/P is there and is nice... not as detailed as the paper one -- and DEFINATLY not as detailed as the RS drivers or anything but very smooth -- very flat... very well behaved for active setups as well...

I do custom passive design work btw which would open up some nice less well behaved drivers as well and cut down on overall prices if you are interested just send a PM...

the only problem with that one is being 8 ohm, my amp pushes 75 watts rms at 4 ohms.

Awww does 3dB matter? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif lol

wouldn't my amp be only putting out like 35 watts rms? i'm gonna be running 2500 watts rms in subs so i need something to keep up.

well thats 37.5 watts for just the midrange... you will have power for the tweeter as well -- and more power for the midwoofer as well...? I would assume?

Also if you think 75 watts is going to get a component set as loud as 2500 watts in subs...... no -- the best bed you would have would be going with pro audio drivers and those are all 8 ohms so far as I know...

The pros are 3 ohm? is your amp stable into that bridged?

yes. i used to run in my jeep for about 6 months but my new car has 5.25's and i wanted to keep it stock, but i guess i can do a little fiberglass pod or something.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...
