Need sub(s) that can handle 2500rms

I might get a hold of two DVC 4 15" L7s. Now I'll run it at 1 ohm instead of .5ohm. If it were up to you guys would you run that setup?

I am looking into setup in sealed enclosure and it looks promising. Great SPL with some SQ thrown in. Only uses 3 cf for both if space is a concern.

id love to see someone with a 5000spl, havnt seen anyone with one that i recall. im very impressed with the lower spl lines that pioneer has out(1500/2000spl's, the new 3000's cant wait to get mine:veryhapp: )
I have a 1500SPL sitting here in my living room //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif not a bad sub for a 10" but not the SPL monster everyone thinks it is. Its about as loud as a w6

Could an improper built box have blown my subs or that just messes up the sound waves? Could a stock electrical system like mine ruin my system (05 ford expedition, 130amp alt, 630 cca battery) I didnt have no headlights or nothing else running when I was testing the subs on. Windows were down, headlights off, every light off.
well the bigger the box the less wattage needed for maximum excursion so yes a box can blow a sub but that doesnt mean your box caused it. I would either go with a solo X, dd 9515, maybe some RE SX or MTs. not a big L7 fan myself you see em alot around Fla. City in the projects.

if you blew the l7's something was wrong... they should handle the power without problem.

The most the 2500d was putting out in your application is approx 1800 watts... on music the l7's should handle fine.

Try not to clip so bad, eh?

polecat .. i was just joking man... you should know i love kicker.. i have bought tons of kicker stuff and will do so in the future.. however i love my dd..
lol by the way how long does it take kicker to repair an amp? i have my zr360 in there now and i'm sending a money order out tomorrow for the repair costs.. and i'm just curious about their turn around times..
I know man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

warranty repairs on amps is 24-36 hours turned around back out the door....the reason your ZXR360 may have taken some time is you had to pay for repairs, and they have to find what is wrong and email or call you with a repair quote..

I used to have a 2500D on each 12 @ .5 daily

ummm they loved it

I would get the 9515 if anything. I talked to a rep at a show recently and he told me that the 9515's could take 2500 daily if you have everything set up correctly, even though the rms on them is what, like 1500 continuouse. the 9915's wont sound that great just so you know.

Kickinaudio, thats a setup im looking at right now. Two 12" Solo Xs. How did you like it? How did it run at .5 ohm? Did it over heat?
The setup is awesome, I love it.

Amps never really went into protect that I can remember... they'd get hot but I can't remember them ever going into protect.

Sometimes when I was working on my stuff... I'd just have 1 2500D and 1 solox in the truck... and that combo got pretty loud!
