Need something explained to me

1st post here. Hello to everyone. Hope some of you guys can help me out.

I'm in search for mids and highs or just a good quality component set. I have a Hummer H3 and will be installing Incriminator Audio Death Row 12's, 2 of them, with 1000wrms to each. I've been running in circles trying to decide on mids and highs. Today I was at my local shop and had Beyma Pro 6mi or Pro 8mi recommended by a well respected professional who lives in my area. As I was sitting here reading about them, I read that they are 150hz-7khz for 6mi's and 150hz-8khz for 8mi's. I'm used to setting my LPF around 80hz to my subs. If I did this and then used the either of the above speakers for my mids, since they are 150hz and above, would I not be missing a gap of music in the 80-150hz range?

I was also told I could run "active" , use my 4 channel MB Quart Onyx 4.125 amp and run 2 channels to the mids and 2 channels to the tweeters and control the frequencies to those speakers with the head unit. And I assume to add a bass blocker to the tweeter or something like that, he just said he would make that himself. Does this setup sound like a good idea? I'm looking for other opinions.

Hopefully what I wrote makes sense, I'm by no means highly experienced in this and I apologize if it doesn't. I just want a quality, excellent sounding system that will hit hard and sound amazing with detailed highs and mids that aren't drowned out by the sub's bass.

ya u would have a gap.

idk of those speakers your looking at, but give us a budget and im sure we can make some good suggestions. also 6.5 speakers right?

i would say u cant really go wrong with image dynamics. depending on your budget, might be able to do better though

also with the mb quart amp you have, it has Variable high-pass filter (60-13,000 Hz, 24 dB/octave), so u should not need a bass blocker. however this does not fix your problem with the mids not playing down to 80hz. those components **** imo if they only go to 150hz.

if u want to use those components, and want to fix the gap, you could get a mid bass, but means u need another amp, and it would probably go in the kicks, which means some work there.

Depends on the HU you have. If its not active capable you wont be able to do anything with the mids and highs other than a HPF at a predetermined slope. You could always add an external active capable crossover, but that would require more wiring and more RCA's and more noise introduced into the system.

I wouldnt use bass blockers either.

I think it would be best to pick a set of DIY speakers and match some mids and tweeters from Meniscus Audio or Parts Express and pick something that would fit better with what you already have.

Thanks for the replies. I will be using a Kenwood Excelon 994 head unit. So it sounds like my choices are either to go piece together a set of mids and tweeters or buy an already set up component set such as Image Dynamics or other. I have a set of Diamond Audio Hex Components that are like new but they are 5 1/4's and I was told to use 6.5 since I am able to and maybe even 8's if I can get them to fit.

The biggest thing this guy kept referring to was the efficiency of the Beyma's which were 98db's. He also mentioned O2's being really efficient.

As far as budget goes, I don't really have a set number to stay under, I just was expecting to be able to get loud, detailed, quality mids and highs for under 400 bucks. I don't wanna skimp on things but I don't just wanna throw a ton of cash out and get a set of Brand X's that are 1000 bucks a pair and have that big name.
