*Need some thoughts* Flushmount 18"s

im trying to keep the box Low-ish on height, but i want to flush mount them, should i do a double baffle and mount it or a tripple baffle, if i do a double, the sub will only grab into 1 piece of mdf, if i do tripple i will flush the top one and the sub will mount to 2 mdf pieces, get me? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

you think double layer will do the trick, meade only has double on his 4 18 box, , but im sure its for height reasons

i just want to be sure double baffle and good bracing will do the trick

id go with tripple if you have the wood and want to fool with it......i really like the way they look

im going to flush it either way, i was just trying to cut back height and use a single layer to mount with extra baffle

What about double baffle with rings inside the box that will act as a 2nd layer for the subs to screw into.

how did you have yours baseballer? 2 or 3 baffles? did you flushmount?

well i would have gone 2 but i needed another .5 inch so i went 1/2 inch and then 3/4s and then another 3/4ths if that makes sense?

so all together you have a 3/4 another 3/4 and a 1/2, im guessing speaker mounted to the 1/2 and a 3/4 the other one was flushed around the sub

is that how im taking it?

yes. But the 1/2 was only for clearence of the bottom of the sub from hitting the pvc. Otherwise i wouldnt have used it.
