Well I'm sick and tired of blowing part of my money @ toys with noise. All they have done is give me problems. There all a nice set of guys, but they don't know some of there shit.

I blew a 15" L7 today off of 1500rms. The guy said it would be fine. Wrong that thing locked up on me.

So I'm back here now asking you guys what the hell I should run. I have 1500rms at 1ohm to use. I think I'm going to go 2 12's this time or 3 10's or even 1 15" again. I will build the box myself and all and my price range is ehh I wanna say $600 for the pair. I am also an SPL freak so I don't want a SQ sub, SPL/SQ is fine though.

Whats out there that can run 1500rms at 1ohm.

Also, anyone local want a 4.5cu ft box tuned to 36hz for a 15" L7 PM me and let me know. Pic is in Sig.

the sub should have been able to take it. were your gains set correctly?

as for suggestions you could look into 2 kicker comp VR's or the new CVX. Hear they are supposed to be real close to the l7 in output but sound better doing it.

ascendant Audio just came out with a new line of products also. Havoc is supposed to be pretty good. http://ascendantaudio.com/

Audioque's are new too. some people just got them and are gettin them powered soon so you wait for a review.

I was playing track 17 on the Young Jeezy CD.

Toys with Noise did all the gain setting and everything. I ripped my box out today and sent the sub in for warranty. Honestly I could give 2 shits if it warranties or not.

I looked at the settings on the amp. Gain was between 1/4 and 1/2. Subsonic was in the middle of 15hz to 32hz. Low-pass was set to 80hz. Phase (wtf) was at 0. Bass boost also at 0db.

The box is tuned to 35hz. When the sub was powered and fine its sounded like shit and they told me it was port noise because it sounded fine in the front of the vehicle. Obviously I was getting a square signal.

So I'm aiming for 2 12" Kicker Comp VX's in a sealed box.

Right now I'm running a 10" Alpine Type E off of 500rms in a Q-Logic enclosure and it makes no motor noise or anything in the box. It accualy sounds good compared to the L7. Just not as shaky/loud but still hits for a little 10. On top of that, its being powered 300rms over the rating and its doing fine. Gains are barley up though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. So far I've had no problem with it. So for conclusion, I'm the only guy that is going to touch my shit from now on.

But anyways 2 12" CVX's should be nice.

What amperage is your factory alternator good for? Not too many alternators from the factory can keep a 1500wrms amplifier satiated. If the alternator is crapping out on you, you can have the head unit volume set to 7 and the amp all the way down and still possibly be clipping the outputs. You can clip the outputs of a 400w amp and still fry the coils on that sub. In either case, they should have addressed the issue with you at Toys with Noise.

I have a 135A alt. I'm running 4ga with a 200amp inline fuse. My alpine amp takes 40amps max and my hifonics takes 120amps max. At peak. So i'm not too worried about it. I do get a lil volt droppage though. I wanna do a capicator, but that just be a waste IMO. Not to toys with noise though... If I'd do anything I would big 3, but I have no time.

first thing i thought lol sorry about your troubles man atleast your systems installed
They never installed my system. I did all the work myself. They just built me a custom box for my car and sold me a L7. N' supposabley said everything was set right.

They can lick my nads. /end

I also got an eclipse sub and a lightning audio VC2 from them, both blown also. The LA VC2 is back though from warranty sitting in my room. I gave it to my bro.

Do you like to use the bass boost options on your head unit? Sometimes turning that on after setting your gains can throw crap off.
I set all that first before I set the gains on my amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
