Need some sub recommendations

Hi all I am a bit new to the forums. I am looking for some recommendations for some subs. My budget is 450-500, I have limited funds atm working part time and in school. I drive a 2000 camry and have plenty of space in the trunk, I was thinking a pair of 12" subs would be my best bet. I would like loud subs, but at he same time want something that will be accurate. I recently listened o a pair of JL 12w6s at a local shop and thought they sounded pretty good, but the price for them was outrageous. A friend of mine has a pair of rockford subs, they are loud but imo are very inaccurate and sound horrible when playing anything but rap. I am pretty much set on a sundown 1200d, it is on sale this month and have read some good things about them here and on other forums(the same place I had listened to the JL subs the employee told me that sundown was crap and I should buy a JL g-max). Any help would be appreciated.

You want SQ or SPL. You could get a single 12" Fi Bl that would get pretty **** loud ported with a 1200d

don't listen to people who can't explain things like DCR, slew rate and dampning factor etc... thats how they make there money..

on the other hand you will be hard pressed to get a better amp than sundown produces...

As for SQ or SPL I think I lean more towards SQ. I was planning on building a ported box. Most of the music I listen to atm is hip-hop and trance with the occasional punk and heavy thrown in. I want subs that can pound hard, but also sound good when listening to things like dave matthews or rush. I have already heard a bunch of rockford and kicker subs that I wasnt to impressed with. The JL were not bad but way to expensive.

ssa, fi, re, ss, sundown all have good subs. thats just a few i like. there tons out there that will ahve what ur looking for and at a nice price.

You can get a sae-1000D for the cheap used from Jake at sundown and match it with a Sundown Audio Z15.

I thought Sundown subs were for SPL.

Man I would really look hard at the JL Audio W3v3. I'm a sq guy and if the w6 were a little out of your price range than look into them. 500rms and very nice output.

ehhhh not so much

Look into a SI mag, IDMAX, Arc audio flatline, Re Se,jl w6v2(buy used) makes it a bit cheaper

Fi Q or BL would be able to do what you want in the right box. Or some REs

The RE SE seems to be a highly recommended sub. After using the search function and checking out there site I may be sold. The price is great to, leaves me extra cash for other stuff.

Would I run 2 4ohm to get the 1ohm I need on the sundown 1200d?

I love my Boston G-5, but it would be hard to go wrong with image dynamics.

you need dual 2ohm coils to get 1200 out of the sundown... you might want to hit up the sundown Z woofer and sundown 1200D. should do excellent.. ESP getting a 149 out a pair with 1500 you should get mid 140s with a single one and 1400 or so... depending on how ya tune her she can sound great as well..
