Hi people!

I have a problem with my bass installation...

My little RF HX2 rfd2215 subwoofer doesn´t like my Hifonics BX1500D. It´s running at 2 ohms voice coils in parallel, the **** woofer doesn´t move unless I turn up the remote bass knob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif which is the worst thing in the world that I can do!

The options are:

1º Bye an MTX RT2600 amp, 200 rms @ 4ohms x 2 channel at 12v and wire each voice coil to a channel, driving 400 rms or more to the Sub or...

2º Sell the RF hx2 and bye a pair of L7s or a pair of Pioneer Premier heavy Subs or other brand to show the Hifonics a 1 ohm load, and pray for basses, i don´t if it is the **** amplifier or the woofer cause I´ve tested the Sub with a 4 channel amp bridged and it did sound! not well but sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif (the amp was a Rockwood 600w max) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

What do the gurues think about my problem???

I start receiving advices!!

thanks a lot!

The MTX is a nicer amp but the Brutus should still put out alot more power then the MTX.

Dual Voice Coil Component Subwoofer

Model: RFD2215

Detailed Description of the RFD2215:

Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 RFD-2215 15"

Dual Voice Coil Component Subwoofer

Frequency response 24-200 Hz

Power range 156-600 watts RMS (300 watts

per voice coil)

Peak power 1,200 watts

Sensitivity 89 dB SPL

Top mount depth 6-15/16"

Sealed box volume 2.25-5.0 cubic feet

Ported box volume 2.0-4.0 cubic feet

What is the type of box you are using and what is the preout voltage of you're head unit?, I suspect that the problem may be in the set up.

I have a Clarion DRX5675 head unit, I think that it puts less than 2v, and then a Pioneer DEQ-7600 (1.5v max??) , i think the whole system puts 1v, but the hifonics level goes from 0.2v to 9v, why does the DAAAAMN woofer move?? (as I want..)

Thanks a lot for your help!

Note: I´ve hooked up a Premier DEH-p860mp (6.5v) for testing but it did the same thing..

I´ve forgotten to put the box specs:

MDF 3/4 inches

70 liters (2.5 cu ft)

Sealed

I hear a sound like pr pr pr (something loose may be), a poping sound like distortion...

I will test the resistance, how many ohms would it have to show?

I know that the nominal is 4ohms, but there is another one, that is abou 3.2 ohms, could it be?

Thanks a lot!
