Need some questions answered about what to do. (car related)

So the other day I lent my mom my truck (1990 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed) and someone ran into her and apparently she didn't feel it. When she came home, the whole bottom of the tailgate was dented in. what should i do? should i have body work done to it or just buy a new tailgate? the dealer said it is about 350 for a new tailgate (flat black though so I would have to get it painted gloss black or w/e). Now my second question is when I decide to do w/e option, i want to replace the back bumper because it also got tweaked. I am going to replace it with a rollpan. Any suggestions on a fairly pocket friendly but good one to get?

good tail gates are like gold because everyone wrecks them. I bet its not cheap to find a used one either

grantkustoms.com check them out for the rollpan. no trimming or anything when installing, they just slap right on there and ready to weld.
