This is the current set-up in my car

1) 'Panasonic' DF-600 Head

2) Front in-dash 'Kicker' 4-inch Component speakers Stillwater Design

3) Rear free-air 'Alpine' 175A 6-inch Component Speakers

4) 'Alpine' F-400 4-channel Amp.(linked to 4 Front & rear speakers)

5) 'Power Acoustic' Pre-Amp

6) 'U.S Acoustic' 400 watts 2-channel Amp.(linked to Subs)

7) 2 'Kicker' XPL 10-inch Subs in Sealed-Box

I am intending to make some changes in my set-up so anyone can share whether if I change my Amplifier to a higher Power(RMS) one makes any significant difference?

I am presently running an 'Alpine' 400watts(RMS) 4-channel(each 100RMS) on all 4 speakers..As for the Subs. are run by the 400 watts 2-channel 'U.S Acoustic' Amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Thanxs

If you want a big improvment in your bass try doing this: get 2 mono amps (1 for each sub). Use the left rca for one amp and the right rca for the other......

When you combine(bridge) both channels of a 2 channel amp the amp will only accept one input. Usually it will use the left channel but sometimes it will mix left and right channel, this is called mixed mono. By using 2 mono sub amps you will eliminate this problem resulting in bass that is cleaner more dynamic and with much less distortion. This can be done with a 2 channel amp if you can find one powerful enough, about 300x2 Rms. I think the alpine mrv-1507 amp would work. it is rated 225x2 rms but it was discontinued.
