Need some opinons

Alright guys I got another question for you. Long story shot me and my father aer looking for a new hobby to begin because his business is at a point where he doesnt have to work there 9 hours a day and he is starting to get bored fast. Basically, I thoguht it would be a good time to bring up sound competitions. I admit I am new to this but I have learned a lot from you guys and after hearing what some of the best buy workers say, I think its safe to say I know more than they do lol. Basically, I am asking what you think you need to start entering? There is different levels correct? Hwo do you get put into these groups, is it by how loud you are or vechilue etc... Here were my ideas and please help me to perfect them or give your own suggestions. Even though I didnt do the install myself on the car I dirve now, I would be excited to do it for this project and it doesnt seem to bad from what I hear from you guys and hey I can always ask you you questions right?

My plan

Car- s-10 blazer ( if you know something better please tell me but I dont really want a hatchback or a car mor elike an SUV)

Subs- RE Mt 18" , 3 or 4

Speakers - not fimilar with what speakers would be good with the MTs or how many i need of them to go with 4 mts

I need suggestions for amps to go with the MTs because I know these babys are power hungry and RE doesnt even recommend RMS because they get used so different from set up to set up

HU- probably the new Alpine touch screen (the dvd one, the better one out of the two that came out) , i forgot the model number

Amps for the speakers also

I plan on doing huge electrical upgrades, such as dual alternator and several batteries. I know you can fit 2 250-300 amp alternators under there.

The budget is not really set so any suggestions I would love to hear. Thanks again guys, you got me addicted to car audio and I love it. I know I am not the smartest guy when it comes to this so please dont answer jsut to hate. I really would like to learn so I can help people like you have helped me.

i have an s10 blazer too... they aren't exactly that big man, 3 or 4 18's??? good luck...

The stock alt is pretty big, i can wang all day with 1200rms, won't affect the needle at all

good luck...

I was thinking of taking out the backseats and having a wall, or would an explorer be better?
A 4dr Explorer would have more room in the back if you took out all the seats but the driver's and front passenger's....

There is some room in an S-10 Blazer but I don't know if there's enough for 3 or 4 18" MTs.

Edit: Is your Blazer 2dr or 4dr?

wow i think you are bitting off more then you can chew. if this is your first install i would go smaller. i mean you are talking some huge amps, multiple batteries, alternators, some serious enclosure designing and building. are you planing to run 4 18's daily? that would be ridiculous. then if you want a front stage to keep up with the 18's, good luck. try starting out with a single 18, and some high powered components

Do you have anyother SUVs that would be better? I know the alternators themselevs cant supply 4 orion 2500s with enough power, how many batteries would be suffice with 2 250-300 amp alternators? Also any ideas on speakers?
