Need some opinions before I pull the trigger

Ok, so I have a 1998 Lexus es300 and the sound in the car really needs an upgrade. I primarily listen to rock/metal and want a system that will have good bass that you can feel in the car but not down the road. I was looking to spend around $600 for a full upgrade. I need to upgrade the head unit as well as the sub for sure and probably the front speakers (I've read to not bother with the rear speakers). This is what what I've been looking at:

Head unit:

JVC 2-DIN Bluetooth Dual USB-CD Receiver HD (KWHDR81BT)

Sub:

Rockford Fosgate P300-12 Punch 300 Watt Powered Loaded 12-Inch Subwoofer Enclosure

Speaker:

Rockford Fosgate R165-S R1 Prime 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System

Amp for Speakers:

Rockford Fosgate R125-2 Prime 125-Watt 2-Channel Amplifier

Would this system give me a good sounding audio? Quality is more important to me then pure volume.

I would go with a reference 12 if I was you.. you want sound quality and they are designed specifically for sealed boxes.

there is an issue going on right now with them and a member here.. read up on it and take it as you will.

CDT,Image Dynamics, for components,even PPI,Sub, Id look at an American Bass TNT 10/12,or a Dayton DVC HO 10/12,as far as an amp in a lower price range, Id recommend SoundStreams Rubicons..Head unit is fine,but low on the voltage..I like to see min of 4v.Just me..I havent bought anything from RF,since the 90s DSM,and HD series, and dont plan on in the future,not even a set of RCAs,but again thats me

I would like to not spend much more than $100 for the speakers and around $250 for the sub including the enclosure as I'm just a poor college kid haha.

Are these the Polks you mentioned?: Polk Audio DB6501

Also these have great ratings and im my price range: Infinity Reference 6030cs

But do you think I've got to spend $160+ to get a great sound?
