I'm currently without sound in my Jeep. My father gave me a Kicker IX405D. Originally he told me one channel wasn't working. When I hooked it up it would barely play at all. As soon as I tried turning it up it would cut out. I got annoyed and went up to Best Buy, and bought a Kenwood Amp KAC-8402. It worked good except after playing for a while at high volume it automatically turns down. That annoyed me as well. So I returned it today.
Now I'm faced with either buying a new amp, or getting my kicker amp fixed. I only have $250 to spend. I'm running 4 mids/highs, and 1 JL 10W3V2. What do you all recommend? I would like to get something with enough power to eventually expand to running a 12" subwoofer. I don't want to run dual amps since it's going into my Jeep Wrangler, and space is VERY limited.
