Need some info on a orion hcca 2100d(the red ones)

Ive been told these are some mean amps. What are the most power they can put out. Ive heard that they can hold a .25ohm load like a champ and it can put up to 10k watts at .25ohms..ive done some searching and never seen anyhting about .25ohms seen .5ohm specs on these amps but nothing else...any info would be helpful i got a chance to get one dirt cheap...

.25 is capable but it isnt gonna do 10k. You have to remember that in their prime which was about 1998 a system running 700-800 legit RMS power to a sub was Huge. This amp is gonna do about 2k power unmodified but their purpose is a cheater amp. The thing is rated at 100x2 at 4 ohms but increases drasticly while the impedence drops.

Powerful amps, yes. I have one. They will do .25 ohm, but not close to 10k watts.

what would be a decent price for one that works great? what kind of power do they put out on .25ohms?

Get a newer amp. You can get more power for a lot less money with a warranty. The new amp will also be a lot more efficient. These babies are Class A/B and not efficient at all. The original setup I had mine in was running 6 subs at 2 ohms bridged. The truck had a 165A alt, 2 red tops and 2 1 Farad caps and the headlights looked like a disco when it was going. This thing is a real current pig.

It might theoretically do .25 ohm but i wouldn't run it like that daily, especially when you consider that you will be paying around $500 for one and you won't be able to get it fixed if you eff it up. I'm hesitant to run mine under 1 ohm. Another thing is that it isn't tolerant of voltage drops. Dip the voltage much at high power and the power supply will smoke itself pretty quick.
