I was driving home from work the other day and all of the sudden my sub got really loud. It was like someone went in my trunk and cranked the gain knob. It stayed loud for a little under a minute and then went back to normal. It did it one more time before I got home. I have no idea what the issue is or what it could be. I need some help.

i had this problem it was a bad rca cable/plug, when i set the gain it was with bad conection (not 100%) but still working, so i set the gain acording to the signal that i had from the bad rca, so one day when the tip of cable move and it made a 100% conection, my sub got realy loud, so o go to the trunk and start messing whith the rca i found the problem, try it maybe u get lucky :p

I checked it out and if I wiggle one of them it does get louder. So I don't know if it's the cable or the plug on my amp.
remove the cable plug and check if the amp plug wiggle if it does is the amp plug if dont is probably the cable plug, the cable plug can seems ok and not wiggle in any way but the problem can be a broken wire in side if u can u can test with other rca cable pull the radio out plug a new cable e pass it to the back just over the seats (its just for testing) plug it to amp test it wiggle the cable im saying that cuze some time u can have a bad cable and a bad amp plug to...
