I am planning on installing two 12" Alpine Type-R's in my car. I have been looking at a few different wiring options and I was wondering if someone could tell me

1. the advantages of wiring dual 4ohm subs down to 1 ohm to an amp... or wiring dual 2ohm subs to 4ohms and back down to 2ohm into the amp.

2. If i run them between 1000 and 1200 rms am i going to need to upgrade anything in my car? (i have a 2009 bmw 128i) and if so are we talking the battery or will it need to be the alternator?

3. will i have to run a bigger power wire from my amp to my battery? or anything else thats going to become a problem?

Thanks in advance

the advantage is based on your amplifier specs. example, if your amp does full power at 1 ohm, you would spring for the dual 4s, and if it does full power at 2 ohms, go for the dual 2s. the whole point of wiring subs differently is all based on the amp that youre running to them. standard rule of thumb on the batt. part is for every 100 watts rms is equivalent to 100 amp battery, example, there, with you running 1200 watts rms, you would want a kinetik 1200. considering they dont make a 1200, youd want a 1400 to throw in the rear. what size power wire are running now?
