Alright so my car (05 accord) is already wired with 4 gauge, and that is connected to a dist. block. I have a stock headunit, and everything is good to go except for the bass remote which ill have to run. This is all from my previous setup. Im getting the crossfire vr2000d (ordering tomorrow hopefully), and i have a 15"xxx. I read the tech specs on the vr2000 and it says i can run 4guage by 2 (it has 2 power inputs) so i will just run the 4 to the dist. block and then run two 4 gauge wires into the amp out of the dist block..right now i have a stinger 150a fuse under the hood, and then a 80a in the dist block..that only adds up to 230, and the amp needs 240. So should i just get 10 more amps for one of the fuses? Does everything sound right, or am i completely off? Feedback/comments/help, etc appreciated.. thanks a lot.. (headunit coming in the next month or so hopefully, then i will run 0 gauge)

Im not an electrician, but im sure thats not how it works.

your 150a fuse under the hood will ONLY ALOW 150 amps to go trough it.

the 80amp fuse you have in your distro will ONLY ALLOW 80amps to go trough it, if 90amps goes trough it, it blows. thats why its an 80amp fuse.

so you can't add 150 plus 80 to get the 230 man.

that im pretty sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

maybe wait for someone else.....im not familiar with that amp. if it has a 240 amp fuse, maybe fusing your block at 150 will be enought?

By the stock HU, you mean running a pair of RCA's to your amp?

it should work, however im sure if you got your self a nice HU you would probably notice a difference in the sound...

but if your strapped for cash it should work for ya

yeah rcas are alrdy wired too, i had it on my last system and it sounded fine, though it cud have been louder im sure..i just dont want it to be bad on the amp/subs

so i called up Crossfire (real nice tech support), and i asked them some questions, well basically they told me that i need 2 back caps/ batt caps? (not sure what it is, but was explained to me a battery/capacitor kind of..) he said that if i just ran that amp on my stock alternator/battery that it wouldnt last any longer than 30 minutes play time at reasonable volume and it wud fry..so now i guess im going to order some of these things? Anyone know what they are? Thankss oh and he said 4 gauge would work but really recommends 2 at the lowest but 0 would be ideal.

I AM ****ING CONFUSEDDDDDDD TO THE MAX... this is so wack.. i dont know what to do now.. i was going to order the amp and have it installed this weekend..but now i need a battery/alternator/back cap?/cap, like i dont even know now......

sorry to bump same thread, but ... **** it.. im going with a weaker amp MTX 1501D, ive heard it on this before and it sounds good, its cheaper, and more reliable, and i assume ( or more of hope, that i wont need any car electrical modifications done) so im going to pick up the 1501d, a cap, 0 gauge, and a alpine cda 9815. pics soon.. latesssss thanks
