Need some help on building a box for this sub

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question. Hey guys I am a newb at building but I'm gonna try my hand at a simple first build. I have 2 Kenwood KFC-W12PS | Speakers | CAR ENTERTAINMENT | KENWOOD USA sub's that I ran in a prefabbed sealed box in my maxima with about 1 cu. Ft per sub. I know it was under what was needed but it still pounded. So now I have a 2015 Silverado cc and was looking to do a ported box behind the console almost like a second console, which in my rough estimate a 15x15x15 box ported with 1 sub. I could possibly make the lower part of the box extend under the seat to get some more volume. Building a square or L shaped box should be fairly simple but I have a few question on this box and terms.

Since I'm looking to do ported I have no clue how to find what I should tune the box to in hertz or size of the port or placement.

How do I find or know what freq the box should be tuned to.

Also being ported in a truck should this sound good. I have the sub so as of now I'm not looking to change it as I do know there are better sub's out there

ported is normally louder.

tuning comes down to the sub.

what it likes.

look on there site and see if they list box sizes and tuning.

and ya you can make the box how you want it.

just make sure it has the right volume and size/length port.

The recommended ported box for 1 sub is 1.5 cf.

So in your case you will want a box with a internal volume of 3 cubic feet.

So if your going to use 3/4 inch MDF the outside dimensions would be H=19" W=17.5" D=20" That will give you a internal volume of 3cf

You will need 2 ports each port will be 3 inch diameter 7 inch in length

That will give you a box tuned at 33hz.

Have fun.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I'm gonna use just 1 sub. Silverado space is very limited. This is the preliminary look. I cut out on card board first to get an idea on what I can do. So far I'm looking at 16 tall x 16 wide x12.5 deep for the rectangle. The triangle part will be depth 1= 3", depth 2= 5.5 , height =9

All total thus will be about 16 inches wide. From my calcs I've come to the rectangle part is 1.338 cu.ft . the triangle area is .173 cu.ft. comes to 1.511 then minus the sub's displacement of .052 a final number of 1.459 cu.ft. this is a rough estimate before I cut but I have no clue as to figure out the port build due to the weirdness of the shape.
