Need Some Help Choosing an amp or amps??

Also one of my friends has two PA Mofo 122x 12 inchs. According to the website they are rated 1500RMS for one. Thats 3000RMS.. more than my solox. He said he would trade.. I would free up ALOT of trunk space... whats your thoughts on that?

you can...

basically you need an amp that is roughly 4 x 100 rms maybe 4 x 125...

the onyx ONX-4.125 fits that requirement and is a very stout amp..

MB Quart ONX4.125 - 1000W RMS ONYX 4-Channel Car Amplifier/Amp has it but any warranty is thru them and not Maxxsonics

Onlinecarstereo.com does not seem to have them ( they are authorized )

MB Quart.. never heard of them sic.. are they reliable? Overheat?? Also any thoughts on that trade that my friend wants to do?? What are your thoughts on that?

not sure i would trade

thoise subs only sell for 150 each and I would never put that kind of powere to them

they are not bad at all by any means but everything speaker or amp related that PA and it's affiliate companies make is severely over rated.

knowing that is the important part..

I cannot stand kicker subs at all.. but even I would keep the Solo lol

lol what subs would you suggest sic? Im getting tired of not having trunk space.. trust me I LOVEEEE my solo. its loud and people hear me from far.. I still want the loudness though but if I can get two subs in a ported box and still be loud with a tiny bit of trunk space.. I would do it. Any suggestions for two subs that can do it?

Id try to find a used sundown 100.4. it will do more than rated and sound very nice.

but if you want to buy new, that MB is a good choice.

sundown SA-12 or Skar 12 for subs. they get down.

for a more musical sub that plays low an SA-12 is a good option.

my tastes just based on the value ( budget vs quality ) leads more to a lower cost product, but competing with the shear loudness that a solo can do is tough on a budget...

I do not like the solo for anything but getting loud lol and they do that pretty well.

but any number of dozens of other subs will get decently loud and sound a ton better doing it..

I will say look for something that works in sealed or ported so the box size can be smaller..

I know of a sub that will work and 2 of them in a 3.5 cf box will get down hard on only 1000 rms to the pair and sound as good or better than alot of other subs

and that is why you have the soloX you just want loud bass... you gotta make a compromise sometimes... IMHO thats all the X is good for, I personally think they sound like crap... they just get very loud lol

more cone area in the same or smaller sized box with the right sub may or may not get louder but I can guarantee you it will sound better than an X in a huge box does.. lol

sic what would that sub be?? And when I say loud.. i mean my solo rocks my house and my neighbors house and his neighbors house.. lol I dont mind having two 12's in my trunk, cuz the space required for the solox to be any effective is ridiculous. If I can get 2 subs that can do the same as my solo.. ill gladly swap for some much needed trunk space.

I'd keep the Kicker sub...it can handle 5000rms ...just put it in the right box and feed it enough power

I got the 12 inch bro, not the 18inch. Don't got the space for that and even with the 12inch i have no space.
