What tools are used to cut a template for a 6.5" woofer (ID CTX65cs) to be placed in a 6x8 hole in my explorer?

What kind of wood should I be using?

Is there a certain "way" to go about doing it or do I just start cutting until the new mid fits the template?

thanks.... had these laying around forever and cant wait to get them in... got a sundown 125.2 begging to power them!!

I use the following:

3/4" MDF

10-24 t-nuts (or 8-32 if the driver holes are small) for speakers

1" machine screws to match the t-nuts

1 1/2" machine screws, washers, nuts to secure baffle to door at factory mounting holes

jigsaw with new wood blade

pencil

resin or wood sealant (waterproof paint or clear coat)

weatherstripping foam (closed cell rubber 1/2" tall and 1/8" tall)

sound deadening (preferred)

build logs shown here:

adapters painted, T-nuts used for driver mounting. foam used to decouple baffle from door, on the back of the speaker between the baffle, and on the front of the speaker to seal it to the factory panel.

also, foam was used on the back of the midbass, and speaker terminals were heat shrunk.

That is the great thing about Maestro products, they are very thorough. Downside is the price tag.
