Hi... A noob here needing some guidance/info. I want to replace my HU.
So far, I know this much....
1 - I want to be able to talk handsfree through my car stereo system/speakers.
2 - I want to stream MP3 and Pandora from my phone to my car speakers and I have decided to simply use the HU's AUX port in front for this purpose.
Here is the complication.
I want to be listening to Pandora/MP3/radio station/USB thumb drive MP3 through my car speakers and, when a call comes in or I make a call, I want the music to stop automatically and allow me to hear the call through my car speakers. And when I hang up, I want the music to continue. Also, I want the best sound quality of phone calls.
Can someone give me various options I have to do this?
I currently bought the Motorola Roadster and I have the option of getting a HU with just AUX/USB and use the FM modulator on the Roadster or the wire-to-AUX to stream from my phone.
OR
I can get rid of the Roadster and get a HU with the BT built-in. But I am not sure what the sound quality would be for calls (I have the option of installing an extension mic from the HU). Also, I wonder if the Pandora from my phone can be streamed to the car speakers via the HU's Bluetooth (just in case I want for some reason)? I've heard some Hu's with BT can be used to cell calls but NOT to stream music.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of each set up?
