To make a long story short i sold my 2 type r's and my hifonics bxi 2006d to buy a new amp and a new set of speakers. I had the amp returned to me bc of problems due to her car which ended up being bc of her poor ground. So now im stuck with my hifonics 2000 watt amp (over-rated) with no subs. Im in debt but wanna squeze out some money for some speakers.

My question....should i just go buy two type r's again (250 shipped (ebay)) OR will my amp be able to push out enough power for like a single 12 BTL or

audioque hd3 just for awhile (like 6 months to a year) untill i can afford an $800 amp and an electrical upgrade.

Thanks

Yea, your amp would do great on a hd3 or btl...

Not trying to be an *** about it,

but I think you should get your priorities straight first and sale the 2006d and get a bit of money and worry about audio later.

x2...deal with the debt first, then do the audio

I would go with the better single sub setup, you can always add a second later. I can relate to being in debt and short on some cash, but I always have to have some bump even if it is just a little bit. So dont sell your amp, cause chances are you will still be in debt and have no bump at all:crap:

I am in too much debt to wait that long...I just need something to get by. I heard that if you "underpower" a sub it could damage it. I know the Btls and the Audioq Hd3 can handle monster power.

So is it aggreed that the amp can handle a single badass sub okay?

If so what kind of sub do i want.....I am mainly concerned about Sound Quality but it needs to get louder than my two type r's. Eventually my plan is to have two 12's and a bad *** amp. But for now im settling for a single 12 and my hifonics amp.

I was looking at:

12 inch BTL

12 inch RE XXX

12 inch Audioque hd3

I have been told these subs are for diff. purposes but im a noob. I just know im willing to spend the money but it has to sound good. To he11 with loudness...i could care less if my neighbor can hear me....it just has to get louder than my old setup (2 type r's).

Any suggestions or help?

you will not hurt a sub directly by under-powering it

Okay understood. I have been mis-informed....

Any suggestions on what sub fits what i need...please remember one day i am planning on getting a much better amp.

Lets let the debt pay itself off over time...it will be okay....im not hurting my credit....im 19 years old and owe prob. $800 on credit cards and my g-parents a like 800 and the courts like a few hundred....plus im looking a few months ahead....
