Need some anti-skip advice

hey guys.

I'm going to be heading to the local bass comp with some W7's and 1000/1 monoblock amp. I've noticed that with the windows rolled up and the backseat pulled down, the bass makes ALL of my c.ds skip like a little school girl going to her grandmother's house. is there something to do temporarily while at the bass comp to sort of ease the suffering of my c.ds? Any help would be appreciated.

Well ... for comps I would normally suggest you stuff it really good with foam or something to help it along ... but then again, I don't know how hot it is where you are and don't know how long you'll have the unit running for ... or it could over heat and cause you problems.

So ... I've always been under the impression that a properly installed head unit shouldn't skip. I would take it out, pull off the trim ring, put it back on, and re-install it into the dash ... making sure all of the bolts are nice and tight. If it still skips, then the former suggestion may work well for SHORT periods of time ... don't be running it for a steady period of time, or all day ... a few minutes at the most so you don't risk over heating (because the ventalation holes are covered).
