I have the following:

RF P5002 powering: JBL P1222 subwoofer in a sealed box

RF 301x powering: (2) Whip Audio front door speakers (200W/100RMS) with (2)O2 tweeters and rear 6x9 Alpine type R with (2) O2 tweeters mounted (replaced the factory ones after they got fried)

I have a soundstorm active crossover also..

My question is how can I get more mid-bass. Right now it sounds kind of sharp..I have to constanly play around with my pioneer HU eq to get it not so sharp. Do I need to get a stronger 4 channel amp? Can I get another amp and power the fronts on my RF 300x in 2 channel and then get another 2-channel amp to power the rears and get better rear mid-bass speakers? My friend suggested getting full range speakers for the rear to make it sound more rich....its too bright....

Help...

Thanks

BTW whats the difference btwn: Mid-range, full-range and mid-bass.....I kind of know what the highs are.....lol

ive heard 02 tweets and those *****es are loud as balls no shit its bright...they werent made to be together so youre going to need some serious midbass to keep up with those but what id do is put the amp you have now on the tweets then get another one to put on your midbass producing speakers so you can turn the midbass up higher than the tweets and also you could just turn the treble down...hope that helps

Trey

I was thinking about just putting mids in the rear without tweeters...

Together? I have the Whip Audio one on each door and the O2 tweeters mounted on my side mirror interior covers....is that too close? And would I have to run the tweets separately to an one amp and the mids to another? Or sholud I install a passive crossover to each door set up?

I don't know too much about slopes, but I know that on the crossover unit itself I have the mids at 200 and the dial that makes the volume go up or down, all the way up. I noticed that I don't have anything hooked to the mid-bass side just the mid-range. It could be the opposite I have to check. Anyways, I just kept playing with the buttons and dials on the crossover until it sounded good. At one point I had to lower the bass level because it was cutting off at a certain point so I turned the dial on the crossover down and it doesn't do it anymore...The audio place I took it for install managed to f-up my fading on my HU Pioneer because I noticed that when I fade it to the rear it doesn't sound...I don't know what he did. And the out put for the HU is on preout:s/w is that right? shoot I'm confused...lol

ok so what you need to do is set your crossover point lower like at 125hz or so then your bass should be alot better go try it and lemme kno

ok, I'll set it after work and let you know...I gonna write down exactly whats on the crossover face as well for further advised....

Treye thanks for your time and patience with a novice like me....

Just was wondering if you knew the reason why my fader on my unit is set up this way now. Did he put all four speakers on 2 channel on my RF 301x?

Ok, here it goes: on the sub I have the LP on 45 (it has 45,80, 120) on the phase it has 0, middle then 180, I have it in the middle and the level dial is a little over half way. I have the sub slope on 18db, it only has a choice of 12 and 18db's. The bass boost is at 0. I don't have any RCA's going to the Mid-Bass. On the Mid-Range I have it set to HP 4k ( it has 2, 4,6). I have the LP set at 400( it has 200, 400,800) and the level dial all the way up. I have no RCA's going to the high's.

On my pioneer HU I have set at 200 mid, 40 for bass and 10 for highs. I always have to mess with the regular 3 band one to get it right.

also what he did is since you only have one amp he used one set of RCAs to run from the Front Speakers RCA jack instead of running one RCA for the front speakers then another for the rear

ok, the dial makes the sub volume go up or down. I guess its just that, the volume. The bass boost dial makes the sub get deeper bass, but I have that on Zero. Anyway, what about the mid range? are they set alright? and the HU settings are they alright? should I put the fade on my HU all the way to the front?
