Need some advice

I just hooked up my sony xm-1s amp running at 500w at 2ohms to my two 10" 400w audiobahn subs in a sealed box.

The output doesn't seem as loud as I expected compared to the audiobahn 300w amp i had in there.

The gain on the sony has to be turned up very close to max input sens. and the bass boost all the way up to be as loud as how I had it on my audiobahn amp which was only up half way. I'm using an 8gauge power and ground.

I also hooked up this same sony amp to my buddies car and that hit a lot louder with the gain only half way up powering his one 12" rf sub.

Any ideas why? Thanks.
