I can break these cuffs
I am wanting some advice on what would be best for my system. I currently have a Zapco DSP6 driven by an Eclipse CD8445 using a single RCA-Symbilink cable into the Ch 1 & 2 inputs on the DSP6. Through testing I have found that when I have the gain in the amps up pretty much at all I get noise/hiss out of my speakers. To solve this i set the amps gains at the lowest possible setting and set the input sensitivity on the DSP6 to its highest setting of .25 volts. At this setting I am not getting any hiss and it seems to sound fine. I will be using my iPod through the AUX in on the CD8445 because the iPod interface sucks.
My question is, would I get better SQ by adding a Symbilink transmitter or adding 2 other RCA-Symbilink cables from my CD8445 to the DSP6 for higher voltage. My other thought is to get the SLDIN-T.F like I could with the CD8445 or I could get a Kenwood KDC-x693 and use the iPod interface and the transmitter to the DSP6.
Final choice is to replace the Sundown 4 channel which is notoriously noisy for something like the Arc KS line, Soundstream Reference, Audison, DLS, Helix, Zuki or anything in that $400 or so price that would be equivalent to those. This may be the best choice but also the most expensive. This problem has so many was to be addressed that it kind of stinks, lol.
Those are the options as I see them. If you have any questions you need answered before posting help, ask them and I will answer them. I am looking for what would provide the best SQ and any and all suggestions and advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance!
