Dilemma: One IDQ15V2D4 or Two IDQ12D4v2's?

I plan to buy the IDQ15V2.D4 for my car and install it in the boot of my sedan.

I will be giving it about 550 W of RMS power from Genesis Profile Sub monoblock and place it in a sealed enclosure of about 1.5 - 1.75 cu. ft.

From what I have heard, IDQ's are known to be very musical, and are fast, hard hitting subwoofers. I like listening to music in such a way, that the sub should disappear during normal listening, but if the occasion calls for it, the sub must be audible. It should come off as robust, crisp and fast bass.

Will the idq15 keep me happy keeping the above requirement in mind? Or should I think of 2 IDQ12 v2s?

I don't want V3's because they are known to be more boomy than the V2's. I dislike any kind of boomy bass and prefer listening to each note as it's intended to be heard by the producers of the music.

You don't deserve ID's products. Boomy, and ID don't belong in the same sentence.
He said he doesn't like boomy sounds. So ID might suit him?
The size of a sub has no effect on the crispness of the sound, so a 15" will be fine. It's a misguided notion that smaller subs play cleaner.

He said the v3 was boomy, and from everything I've heard that is totally incorrect.
I haven't heard either, but he was doing a comparison, not necessarily saying it was generally speaking compared to other products.

Anyways, main point is with the sub size anyways.

This is becoming a common question, and therefor this is becoming a common answer: two 12's have virtually every advantage over a single 15 except initial cost. More cone area for more output potential, and more motor to soak up power, minimizing power compression and likely extending the life of your subwoofer system.

I have not played with a V3 yet, but I would not be afraid to try them. Everything Ive read says they are a step up from the V2, including musicality. 'Boominess' is just as likely, if not more likely, a cause of the enclosure type/size/alignment than it is the speaker itself. Knowing ID and the time they put into the V3, and their desired performance from the IDQ line, I find it extremely hard to believe its less 'musical' than the previous version.

Is ID common in India?

Good luck with your project, and keep us updated.

That is the reason to go with two 12's over a single 15". Just not a difference in musicality.

Finally bought the JBL W12GTi. Fell in love with the sub at first listen. Bought it authorized. I guess that's the sub stage!

ALSO, upgraded the amplifier to a Clarion DPX11551. Since the sub would be happy with about 1200-1300 W of RMS power
