Need some advice...

Ill try to keep this short.I know everyone hates long threads.

I just added a Kicker 750.1 and an MA Audio(I got it cheap)10" sub to my stock Bose system. To be honest it sounds pretty good,real good actually,but...its just not quite enough.

Im not sure which way to go from here to get more bass.I think the amp has plenty of power,but when I listen to certain music the bass is a little on the "light" side. If I put in some Rap or something very bassy it sounds great. The problem is I dont listen to that music.I listen to mostly 80's metal.

The box I have is a pre-fab(its ported) and I need to continue to use pre-fabs because I dont have the knowldege or tools to make my own. Heres some thing Im thinking might help.Can someone kind of point me in the right direction.Im looking for a lttle bit of both SQ and SPL.

2 10" s sealed

1 12" sealed/ported (which would be better??)

2 12" same as above

or Im even thinking about taking the plunge and getting a 12" W7. Do I need a special box for this??

Im sorry for this long thread,its hard to keep it short when youre so clueless like me.I dont have anyone I can talk to about this so Im hoping you all can help me out.

It there a shop around you that has a good rep? Having them build you a box probably won't cost much more than getting a new prefab.

Know anyone good with wood? You could get a design here and have someone you know build it for you.

Also what dimensions do you have to work with?

if u listen to alot of 80s metal it seems to me that good midbass speakers would help more

than subs

if u feel u already have that

a better sub will make a big difference any sub can sound decent on rap as the genre is so geared towards low notes

ill try to find some suggestions for a new sub

and believe me when i say the box is just as important as the sub if not more

now this decision depends alot on how much bass u want cleanly and u can go cheper

im sure other users will have lots of opinions but these are all good quality sq woofers and I believe that makes all the difference in having ur system sound well

Thanks for the help guys.To be honest I feel pretty overwhelmed with which way to go. Where I live there are a few small mom and pop shops but to be honest Im not sure they are very reputable.Then of course theres CC and BB.Im not a fan of BB at all,but to be honest Ive had real good luck with CC.My store has some pretty knowledgeable guys.All there work has been top notch so far.

As far as swapping speakers Im not really interested in that.To be honest the Bose system is actually a very nice system.I know there are alot of haters of the Bose stuff,but Im really happy with it.

As far as space goes I have a ton of trunk space. I have a 07 Nissan Maxima.I can literally get in the trunck.So I can accomodate a pretty big box.I dont want to fill up the whole trunk though.

These are some nice subs. I really like the ID subs.Maybe a little out of my range.

Let me ask you this though.Should I be using 1 or 2 subs? 10's or 12's??

prolly the 2 10's cause it will make for tighter bass for the genre of music you prefer...
