Last week i was in a car accident with a 1991 dodge spirit. The accident was my fault, and we go to court on Jun.6 Since it was a crappy car, i figured instead of letting my insurance rates go up, i would just pay for the damage out of my pocket.. Plus i go to school taking up autobody and figured that would cut down labor cost too. Well, i recently found out i needed to be reinstated because i completely forgot about my insurance payment and come to find out i wasnt covered when the accident occured.
today i showed my teacher pics of the accident and he said it was more damage than he pictured. He told me my best bet would to just give her the blue book value of her car.
Now i feel like im getting over by doing that. Of course i would have to talk to the lady and see what she would prefer. But would that be right to offer her the blue book value of her crappy car, or should i go ahead and see if we could fix it. even though the cost of fixing it would exceed the value of the car.
what would be the best thing to do in my situation.
