Need some advice

I am getting a 12inch alpine type-X delivered to me next week. I already have an amp from my previous sub. The amp i have is an infinity reference 611a mono amp...i am wondering if this is enough to push the type-x (i know its 1k rms). I really dont feel like spending mroe moeny on an amp, but if i must, i guess i will.

So what do you guys think, should i save myself the $ and just stay with the amp i got?

i have the 12" X it sound ok with my A8000T with 800watts going into it...but alot people here say if u want to push it to the limit...give it 1000rms...

You can somewhat make up for a lack of power by building a larger enclosure. It will change the enclosure's alignment however, so you don't want to go crazy with it.
