Need some advice re: 8 ohm RF P1

A friend of mine recently bought a sub/box package cheap at a closing down sale, with a Rockford Fosgate P1 sub, and a cheapy 12mm MDF pre-fab box. He wanted a better box, so I offered to come around and build a new one for him to fit nicely in his boot. After removing the sub from the cheapy box, we discovered that the sub was actually an 8ohm P1, not a 4ohm as he was told when he bought it. Unfortunately, the business that he bought it from has since closed down, so we have no recourse to get the sub changed!

Now we decided to go ahead and build a dual 12" box, and he's going to go buy another 8ohm P1 so we can run the two as a pair at 4ohm. He has an Alpine V12 4-chan amp, that can supply 100WRMS from 2 channels when bridged.

My question is, would it be better to run the two subs at 4ohm, together from 2-channels bridged (keeping in mind that this will leave 2 channels free for fronts), or should he run the 2 subs on 2 seperate channels, taking up all outputs when bridged? Or is there anything else that I might have missed?

if i was you then yes run the 2 subs off the 1 channel and the other one for the highs untell you get better stuff

Thanks mate, that's what I thought would be better, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

And yes, I know he needs to get some better gear, but he's just buying his system bit by bit, upgrading a little at a time.
