need some advice on amps..

im going to look at amps today. I want to know what i should be looking at on each amp... besides the rms? i want enough power to make it hit hard but also in the future if i get a new sub prolly a 12 i want enough power so i wont have to purchase another amp.. any suggestions or advice??

Once you take all of that into consideration buy the best amp that you can afford. Unlike head units that are constantly changing with added features an amp is an amp. If you buy a good one now you can always change you system around it or add additional amps if you want to upgrade. A really good amp will last for years and years.

i just went outside and started messing with my gains on my amp. it sounded a whole lot louder when it was almost to max but if i turn up the volume on my cd player any louder it goes to protection mode.. is there any way i can prevent this?? besides turnin everything down..
