Need rim size help guys!!

First off I drive a 2005 Ford Expedition its 4x2 Eddie Bauer Edition and I have factory stuff on there now my problem is I'm a disabled veteran and have a scooter lift on the back of the SUV. I'm wondering if I go with a 20 inch rim would it drop the level of truck so it effects the height of the scooter lift when the scooter is on the truck?? I don't want to go larger than a 20 inch because of my disability is my back and riding on anything with a smaller side wall than that I think would cause my back to hurt even more than it already does from riding. So will a 20 not lower the riding height of the lift on the back and not effect ride quality??

I believe a lot of it will depend on the size tire you get. The smaller series tire you get the more uncomfortable the ride will be. Do you happen to know the stock tire and wheel size?

265/70 r17 translates to a 32" tall tire with 7.5" sidewall.

a 265/55 r20 tire will be similar to your stocker's tire height and width, but with a 5.75" sidewall. you'll give up two inches of cushioning but your hitch shouldn't change altitude

yeah that sounds about right. are you going to get street tires or off-road tires?
