what is the benefit of these remotes? shouldn't the amp be set and left alone?

a knob to control the bass db on an amp up front is nice to have, i dont like getting my brains bet out of my skull while im driving most the time... i can control the subs bass from the menu's sub out feature but id rather just reach up and turn a knob...
