I've got an 07 GMC Sierra Classic Crew Cab that's all stock, but I have a 40-mile commute and use my phone for music. Since the stock h/u doesn't have aux, I've been using a portable BT speaker sitting in my console. It works, but it's really not ideal, so I've scraped some budget to replace the head unit with something better. I've not shopped for a head unit in at least 5-6 years, so I'm woefully uninformed.
I've got about $200 to spend on the head unit itself, and plan to install myself.
The main need is Bluetooth audio streaming - I use an Android phone, and my research thus far has shown that I probably want AOA support, as well. Also, I drive A LOT, so a daylight-visible display is a must.
My current top choice is the Pioneer FH-X830BHS or FHX820BS (haven't decided if I want to sprint for HD radio just yet...)
I'm also considering going single-DIN and getting a spacer/pocket to fill the other din - good idea?
