Will 4" diameter flared port be enough for a DC Level 4 12" in 1.6cubes?

not really. 4 inch aero is about 12 inches of total port. good for up to a cube. anything over that need either 2 4s or 1 6

i was going to go 4" diameter @ 16" long.

if i go 6", how long will i need? calclators are saying ~37". which i can't fit.

if i go 2 4"s then i need ~34" each. still way too big.

yea aeros are picky. they dont do well in smaller boxs. do a slot port i say.

unfortunately, i cant. the box is of a very unique shape. cannot grasp how to make a slot port fit properly

and frankly, for my vehicle this box is quite formidable ha. been running 8's sealed in .4ft3

ok so after a slight design mod. i could make a slot port of ~2.5-3"width and 17.5" length with as much interior port as necessary. would this better or worsen my chances for port noise? thanks basscort.

either do external ports or just do one 4 inch if thats all you can fit. like stated above, aeros are picky. you will probably have port noise bottom line.

doubtful you will have port noise at all the 12" rule is geared toward spl more than anything else. i have seen many sub enclosures use less it just depends alot on the tuning and subs t/s more than anything. i have 25 sq inches in 2.9 cf and have 0 port noise tuned at 31 hz yet i have seen 3.5cf boxes with 60 sq in of port chuff horribly
