im looking to get a comp set in the near future, will be powered by a mbq dsc 4125, alpine 9887. need a 6.5" set.

i will be adding more deadner in the doors to kill the couple little rattles i have, midbass output isnt a huge deal for me, the budget im setting will be about 500$ so looking for quality, and long term life. i listen to mainly country, with rap and rock in the mix, im currently active with mach 5 mids, and 1" seas alum tweets https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=633

i want a tweeter that is a bit smooter, and possibly more volume, tweets are mounted in the door where the side mirror is so a tweet that can swivel would be a bonus,

been considering the jl c2's or the c5s, alpine x's, bostons, open to all suggestions, but want some real world experiance to back it up, yes speakers are a personal

preferance, but the only speakers i could get a real listen to would be the c2s or some bostons, and possibly focals but they might be out of my price range.

i will be buying them new aswell , so let the suggestions begin.

i'll vote for Hybrid Audio Technologies (HAT) Clarus C61-2 or Hertz High Energy HSK-165XL (not to be confused with standard high energy HSK-165)

both are on the top end of your range.

listen to them first. for that much money you should listen to a speaker set before you buy it.

you can spend lots of money on great comp set & if you dont know how to tune then it wont make any difference.

Install,palcement,aiming,deadening,etc...... will make the biggest difference over buy a premade comp set just to get louder or thinking it may sound better.

But if you want a better over sounding mid for a great price

Diycable is probably the best sounding 7inch mid that i have listen to.

do you want to use a large format tweeter or small neo?

have you thought about trying F.A.S.T. set up?

useing a fullrange driver with a 8 inch midbasss!

I'm useing a Mark Audio CHR70-II 4inch on my dash. I guess with old chr70 there wasnt enough top end.The newer chr70-II there is plenty of top end for my liking. The Founteks pretty good on or off axis. There are H-Audio,Hybrid Audio & Fostex are people are useing as a full range driver.

You can use an 8inch sub for midbass duty- Diycable,Peerless,Tangband & the one little gem i just found T3 Audio 8inch subs are amazing sounding for the price

Here are other good tweeters to look at.I did like the Seas tweeters, but i like to listen to others as well to find what i like better.

These i have played with, I'm a big fan of anything Vifa.
