The alt in the 'Hoe is good for what you were talking about with the 1500-1600 watt, with upgraded wiring under the hood...and that is pushing it.. But when you drop that 2000+ watts in there, you will need some more upgrades...probably an extra battery dedicated to the amp(s)

if you go any more than the RUBI 2500, be ready for that alt..you will be dancing on the line

Some dude down in my state is selling a soundstream tarantula 4000 amp for 150. Should I bite..? He says it puts out 2000w @ 1 ohm.

specs good, BUT it calls for 200 amp fusing and only takes 4/0 power wire....I dunno about that one.

Hifonics bxi line is decent i run the bxi2610@2ohms so 1700 watts only upgrade is the big 3 in a 2009 silverado on a 160 amp alt no voltage drop. I listen to metal alot but sometimes rap and they both fricking get it i wont be upgrading for awhile. On a side note the biggest diff i noticed was when i made a rock solid subwoofer box and i went through 4 in about 1 year before i got it right....
