Need new amp

Well the soundstream amp I had went bad on me so I need a new one. It was a 1600w amp which was hooked up to 2 sa 15s. I was thinking about just going up to a 2000w amp but I need one for under $200. If I can't find one for what I can pay then I am just going to get a mb quart onx1.1500w.

Another question:

I'm getting a ported box this weekend. If I got the 1500w powering 2 sa 15s in a ported box, would it be louder than the 1600w and 2 sa 15s in a sealed box.

Thanks!

Edit: not allowed to go on eBay. That's where I got the last amp from.

Short answer: Yes

But it's all box dependant, car dependant, setup dependant, etc.

The car audio and electronics industry can be shady. Just do some research. And if money is an object, buy only from a reputable source where you know you can get a full refund if not satisfied.

Ok so I narrowed it down to the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1 for 209.95 or the Crunch PZA2000.1 for 154.95. The Hifonics is a class d monoblock. The Crunch PZA is a monoblock but it says class A/b? I don't really know what that means. I know they are made by the same company, but I need to know which one is better to buy or if someone has a suggestion for me in same price range then please let em know. Again I have 2 sa 15's D4.

The Class A/B is an Analog/Bipolar amp, the Class D is Digital. A decent Class D is cheaper to build and can be made more efficient in terms of power/size ratio. A decent Class A/B is more efficient in terms of sound quality and flexibility, but usually less efficient in terms of cost to build. The Class A/B is prone to produce more heat if close attention is not paid to heat dissipation methods by the manufacturer.( the cheaper ones skimp out internal board layout and internal fans)..

This is a factory refurb Class A/B by one of the best in the business. It comes with a remote voltage meter to help ensure you keep power within it's recommended operating range of 13-14.5 volts. If you are willing to pay a little more attention to voltage fluctuations and can understand the included directions for use in bridged mono operation. This amp was $700 new, it is big and has no problem doing clean rated power down to 2 ohms. As long as you do the required electrical upgrades it would take for that HiFonics, SS, or Quart to operate without failure. Why did the SS fail??

I'm in highschool so I wouldn't really have time to do all that stuff. The ss failed because I think the company sent me a bad amp. I sent it back to them and they still haven't sent back after like 2 months.
