Need new amp

I'm in highschool so I wouldn't really have time to do all that stuff. The ss failed because I think the company sent me a bad amp. I sent it back to them and they still haven't sent back after like 2 months.
yea, I see your point. I hope you have a better understanding of A/B and D amp classes. Did you do the Big 3?..did your lights dim on heavy bass while you were running at night?..did you play it hard when the ignition was off?...did you have the amp mounted to the box?

No to the big 3. I want too tho. Lights only dimmed when turned all the way up. I never played with the ignition off. The amp was mounted behind the box. And I just got HIDs put in after I had amp taken out. Did hids myself.

what do you drive?...If you want to run any of the amps mentioned in this thread, you will need to the big 3..i would recommend doing this before even going amp shopping for anything over an honest 5-900 watts, depending on your vehicle. A/b,c,d or whatever alphabet amp you buy requires a specified voltage range to operate...most are designed to run at an average 12.5-14v while the engine is running. The amperage draw for a normal vehicle alternator includes all of the electrical components of that car. Which leaves very, very little extra ( maybe 40-75 amps depending on vehicle)for non oem components like a 1500 watt amp that needs a buttload of amperage . That figure might be as high as 80-100A, depending on the amp..If the amplifier cannot get the juice you are demanding it to have, it WILL die sooner or later.

furthermore, anything up to @1200 watts should have the big big3 and a good charging battery...@2000w, you better be looking at a very, very expensive battery (or better, multiple good batts) and H.O.Alternator upgrade.....But this info is based on a 3/4 ton Suburban with a decent fact alt...lol..anything less, and I would suggest you visit your local installer for quarantee/warranty purposes..lol

Judging by your equipment choices, I would say yes, get one without a doubt. I am sure there are several H.O. alts to choose from these days..Look into batteries and see what folks are running now days as well...Kinetics makes some good ones.

Yeah mechman are 450... So out of my range
I bought a EA 200 several years ago...IIRC it was @ $400.

that powerbastard looks pretty fine..Call around and talk to ppl direct though when you think you are ready

one of these in the back with a run of 0 ga might be more economical and feed the amps you have been looking at with solid juice .

Dang. I'll that stuff is SO expensive. Is there any amp like audio pipe or something that I could run without needing all the alternators an stuff? I don't think it's possible.

I don't have to tell you, but I am anyways...1000 watts. I know it is half of what you had before, but if you can keep it clean, it will last. I would bet you that if you ran some heavy ga back to the amp area and set up the baddest battery you can find at O'Reileys or Napa,...a yellow top Optima maybe.. you won't hear much difference from what you had..much better quality at least. Go back and look at that Alpha I posted earlier..for real.

I guess I'll just try to do the battery and alternator thing. I really want to push these on a nice amp. I probaly need to do the big 3 anyway because I wanna do door speakers and stuff as well.
