NEED my interior louder! W/pics please give recs.+ pics of full setup..ITS A TCAB!!

I have tried only 1 set....I really dont have much midbass...dont care to mch for it..my crossovers are set at like 130 anyways...I just want loud vocals and crisp trebble.....and NO. 1 set is not even close to loud enough.

And how do you say 2 sets is just tacky....you show me 1 show car that has won for interior or custom stereo that only has 1 set. Every newer decent car on the market today has more than 1 set...and they sound louder and better than my 2.

I have decided im going to go with the Boston Acoustics Pro 60's...i can get em cheap, and they drop right into my kicks..I am going to tryyy 1 pair FIRST, and see if it works..if not...then im gonna add 2 again....

If all you care about is looks, do whatever you want. I can show you plenty of systems that have won the IASCA world finals with only a single set of comps. Winning "custom stereo" at a custom car show is all about bling and nothing about sound, except maybe overly loud bass to draw attention. 1 set of front speakers properly powered will get loud enough to cause pain. Trust me I've done it. If you really are serious about getting loud, horns are the answer on the top end. If you don't want to go to that level, get a bigger amp and a better set of speakers. Cancellation is a huge issue at higher frequencies and running a single set of speakers will minimalize it. Cancellation costs you volume and since volume is what you want you need to minimize cancellation.

do you think 150 is enough? or should I get 200 to be safe....reason I ask is because out of all maxxonics products... MBquart..hifonics..autotek...crunch. the highest powered 4 channel is 170x4 hifonics amp.

Type r's have plenty of midbass. you should be able to cross them over at 80 and have good midbass and get loud. Maybe look at the install instead of replacing speakers. Sound deadening the doors helps midbass a lot. What kind of head unit are you using? Maybe low voltage output on the rca's is why you have to have the gains so high. Try a line driver to raise the voltage and lower the gains on the amp.

if you really expect a standard pair of comps to "keep up" with a sub-bass system than can do 140db (guesstimation), youre fooling yourself.

if its too loud, turn it down.

I told ya you may need more power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/highhorse.gif.6bbb570c3f53dc0dcce8a2b8ad05cf11.gif

Hehe jk.... Why not give Rainbow a try?

And make a decision. Do you want Bling or great sound, 2 sets for bling, i set for a great sounding frontstage that will get LOUD...Also i dont think you realize that it only takes around 110 DB (at 1khz for example) for you do go DEAF...not hearing damage, but DEAF in a matter of minutes...

yea thats cool. I dont need bling..I just want it to get loud. I am giving the Bostons a try. I heard them the other day, and I liked what I heard off of 125rms from a boston amp. until then, im trying to sell my type R's and my current 4 channel...after that I will replace my 2 channel.
