Need JL Suggestions for more BASS

I have a regular cab Dodge truck. I already have a JL 10w7, ported, powered by 500/1 amp. I want more bass. I want to add to the sub I already own and with JL Audio. I know alot of folks think JL is overpriced crap but I like it.

How much more do I need to add before I really start feeling the bass. It sounds great now, plenty of bass... BUT I WANT IT TO BEGIN TO AFFECT MY BREATHING!!!! ha ha.

do you guys think powering 10w7's with 1000/1 amps is too much?

I was thinking of just having two 10w7's powered by two 1000/1's. Is this a good idea? Will I get the results I want? I was told my dodge could fit as much as THREE 10w7's in a ported box behind the seats.

Please help. you guys have alot more experience than I do. This is my first real system and I want to make it a really really good one. Thanks!

i love my 12w7, you would have to fight real hard to get it from me, aint gonna happen.

i have about 1400 watts on it, it loves it. heres my sujjestion for you.

im guessing your 10w7 is in a ported box?

try a 1000 watt amp on your 10w7. (not a jl 1000 amp, they are a great amp but need a very strong electrical system to shine properly and expensive) try an alpine or orion or sundown or kicker or kenwood or something, but it must be able to do 1000 wrms not 1000 peak.

if you have a friend with an amp like that, give him $15 and try it in your ride with your sub for a few hours.

if you dont have a friend with an amp like that go to a good car audio store and offer them some cash ($30?) for them to fit a big *** amp and demo it in your car.they wont want to do it for free, but if you talk serious with them (cash in the face) they might do it for you? they are risking scratching it etc if they fit it to your car.

if not loud enough,

get another 10w7 and 2 x 1000 wrms amps, 1 amp per 10w7.

my bet is 1000 + real watts on your 10w7 will be loud enough that you wont be able to take it for more than a few songs before you have to turn it down a lil,

AND MORE IMPORTANTLY,

it will sound absolutely amazing at that volume.

if you build a proper box for that sub, you can get a real good amount of bass from it. The 10w7 I had seemed to be in the perfect box for it, because it got lous as hell.

Is your box a prefab???? Maybe you can look into a good box before another sub, if you are hurting for space? Dont know if you are, though.

No its not pre-fab, its custom ported. It definitely hits, turned up the whole system sounds like a real concert performance. the kick drum is really pronounced in rock songs. its an above average, great system. i just want more now.
