Need info on 15" SQL subs

The BL and Q have different motors as well.
What kind of vehicle are you working with? What's your music preference?

2005 Toyota 4runner (But don't want to take up whole back) and listen to rap and rock I guess the most.

I think the DDs are supposed to sound pretty decent for getting as loud as they do. There was/is a DD 3515 on E-bay for either 300-350$ brand new, and I've seen these compared to some good SQL subs.

That's what I was thinking, the 9515d that I heard was loud as hell and still sounded good for the limited range it was playing (70 hz and under).

Good options if he is leaning slightly towards the SPL for sure.

The XXX will require a very large box to get the full potential out of the sub. For the price of an XXX and the box size required, I would say go with any of the options above for sure. They will make a lot better use of the space.

It will be more expensive. You will have more cone area so you have the potential to be louder. If you have the money, 2 12" Q's could be louder than 1 15" Q. How much louder? It depends.

DD's can sound good in the right box. A lot of people sacrifice SQ for extreme spl with some of the boxes they are put in, but in a nicely ported and tuned box, they can sound pretty good while getting impressively loud.

Like the DP 15's also. Would love to get a chance to play with some, but sound nice in the cars I've heard them in.

If you get a BL make sure you get it loaded, it will handle that kind of power better.
