Need immediate help. Amp or sub problem?

Ok, so i have a 5000w Oz Audio sub hooked up to my Memphis 1000-D. It's been working perfectly fine for the past 2 weeks and last night I popped my fuses in my amp, they were 40A. Replaced them with some 40. I went to bump and now the sub makes a clicking noise (coils are intact, i checked them, sub doesnt sound blown when you push down on it), but the amp goes back and forth between protect and powered real quick, but it won't bump. My question is... do i have a problem with the sub or the amp?

Amp. check your ground(s), power and remote wires.

may have a cut in the power or something causing it to ground out OR just a loose connection

Alright thanks guys, I'll check all the wiring today. It's a possibility that my power wire is cut or somthing, so i'll check it out. Any other problems ya'll see it could be? Because im about 99% sure that the sub is fine, because i dont see how a 1000W amp could blow a 5000W sub. The amp just goes crazyyyyy. I went to hook up my other amp (Hi-Fonics 2000 Super-D) , my car cant handle it so i dont run it. But the sub didnt even power when i hooked it up, the amp did, but then it went to protect... everything is so **** confusing.

Ok, so I checked my wiring, re-did my ground... No problems that were visable. Any other idea's what this crazyness could be? I'm at a complete loss.. Amp goes from power to protect everytime the sub goes to bump... the sub makes a popping/super distorted noise... but it doesn't make a "scratching" sound when i push down on it, which would indicate a blown sub, and the coils are intact, plus theres no "burnt" smell. test the resistance of the coils on your sub with a dmm

You mean a DVOM? (Digital Volt ohm Meter)

How exactly do i go about this? Have the sub out of the box unhooked, put positive lead into the + terminal, Negative lead into the - terminal, do that for each side since it's a D4?

This should be on "OHMS" correct? and should be 4ohms for each?
